On 20th and 21st of July, Hubalicious took part in HUBWORLD. This was the final celebration of the three-year Cultural Hub, which was set up to promote art and culture young people. Hubalicious is part of The Cultural Hub and we even had our own HUB HUT at the event and managed to get even more people interested in our website.
On the Friday there was a procession including all the schools and organisations involved in Cultural Hub as well as sand worlds created by a range of young people from different schools seen all through the event. Saturday included the all day event and the evening event-Beached. This was an amazing way to finish off the day. It started with a live band and djing, followed by dancers and performers. It also included a range of wind surfers, speed boats and even divers emerging out of the sea, fire dancers followed and the show finished with the live band and some amazing projections. There was also burning sculptures and something to look at everywhere. There were many different things going on over the two days with performances and workshops taking place across the whole of alum chine beach. Lots of people came and it seemed many enjoyed the event. I know the Hubalicious team did!! I not only was there marketing Hubalicious but I also took part in the evening event as one of the flag dancers. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and even though the weather was awful it was still really fun and exciting, as anyone who attended the event will tell you. The people that organised it and took part in it deserve a great thanks for the way that it went because I don’t think it could have gone better. The evening event was choreographed amazingly and was a fantastic end to the Cultural Hub. As a young person not only was it a great event to be apart of but also to share with friends who really enjoyed it too!!! Like a lot of the organisations, we too will be carrying on even though Cultural Hub has now finished. So we look forward to seeing you at our next event!!! The Hubalicious Team The St. Peters cultural hub group organised a trip for year 9 and 10 students to go to bridport to go and see a theatre production of Invisible Bonfires. This is what one person thought about it: We went to see Invisible Bonfires at Bridport Arts Centre. Produced by Forkbeard Fantasy and performed by the Britton Brothers, it was an exciting, interesting and topical show.
